Hydehill Cottage provides an ideal location for exploring the Cotswolds and offers easy access to the cities of Bath, Bristol, Cheltenham and
Oxford. Bath is approximately 30 – 40 minutes drive (25 miles) from the cottage.
The area abounds with places to visit and things to do including local golf and
gliding clubs, horse riding and the world famous Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at
Slimbridge. The Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley are within easy reach.
Hydehill Cottage provides a superb location for a walking holiday as the foot
and bridle paths which surround the house provide endless opportunities for
walking, exploring the countryside and bird watching. We adjoin the Cotswold Way
Footpath running from Chipping Camden to the City of Bath
If you have a dog, please bring it as we are dog friendly and the dog walking in
the surrounding area is excellent.
Uley village - ½ a mile from Hydehill - has a village shop, a pub which serves
food and a brewery which produces the famous Uley beers.
Hydehill Cottage is the self contained wing of our 16th Century house and is set
in 6 acres of garden and paddocks where our small flock of Jacobs sheep graze.
The house which is on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment and Cotswold Way Foot
Path, is situated under Uley Bury Hill Fort and looks over the Severn valley to
the Forest of Dean and beyond.
Hydehill Cottage is a three star tourist board grade
cottage that sleeps two and has spectacular views from its own terrace. Down stairs
it has an entrance hall, a living room which includes a fire with a
kitchen leading off it and up stairs a large double bedroom with a bath room
next door - The bed can be provided as a double or two singles. (A cot & high
chair are available if required). We do not believe that the cottage is suitable
for small children.
The cottage has a high standard of fittings and these include a microwave,
washing machine and television & DVD player - Bed linen and towels are provided.
Heating is by central heating from the main house heating system and a coal burning fire - electricity and coal are included. |
